At Bazil Chiropractic Health Center, we know the dieter requires special support on both the physiological and psychological levels. Dieters are frequent victims of cravings that cause them to overeat, and they cannot eat normally without gaining weight. Physiologically, the dieter is different than the thin person in the way they handle carbohydrates and insulin. They have become a fat-storing machine. Knowing this, we have designed a program to help change the dieter’s body chemistry to that of a fat-burning machine.

Overweight people face another challenge in that their muscles are not as efficient at using stored fat as fuel. To help counter this condition, we customize an exercise program targeted at increasing the ability of your body to burn fat. Did you know, except for the well-conditioned individual, that a slower pace exercise can be more effective at burning fat? Exercising at about 50% to 55% of maximum intensity instead of at 60% to 75% results in greater fat breakdown and more weight-control benefits.

During this phase, you lose fat by employing your body's natural fat burning metabolism. This process allows you to tolerate a low-calorie diet and burn your stored fat for energy. You lose weight safely while protecting lean muscle tissue, thus improving your health and the overall shape and appearance of your body.

increase metabolic activity and thermogenesis:

As your body becomes leaner following your initial weight-loss phase, you will be steadily increasing your activity level as well as your food intake. This process resets your basal metabolic rate so that you can accommodate a greater intake of food and still retain the results you achieved during weight loss. With an increase in your basal metabolic rate, you will also experience an increase in thermogenesis causing production of heat within your body. An increase in thermogenesis alone can account for several pounds of fat loss over the course of 1 year.
